intu Metrocentre welcomes new marketing co-ordinator

Jennifer Nee has been appointed marketing co-ordinator at intu Metrocentre.

Jennifer, 25, from Low Fell, Gateshead, graduated from Sunderland University with a 2:1 BA Hons in Event Management.

Jennifer’s first position after graduating was as a marketing assistant at intu Eldon Square, where she progressed to marketing co-ordinator, in charge of the centre’s busy event and promotions calendar.

“My first two years at intu were a complete whirlwind; on the day I started my first job was to model a dress owned by Cheryl Cole! The dress was so tiny that the statuesque catwalk models couldn’t fit into it - and as I am very petite I found myself suddenly stitched into it and strutting along the catwalk in front of hundreds of shoppers! I didn’t have time to be nervous!

“It was a wrench to leave my colleagues in Newcastle, but the chance to work at Europe’s largest shopping and leisure destination was just too good an offer to turn down and ideal for my career development. I’m really enjoying working alongside a new team, planning and coordinating in-centre campaigns, promotions and events, and working with even more retailers to provide marketing support.”

When Jennifer isn’t hard at work, she likes to spend weekends going out with friends, catching up with her family, and walking her two much loved Bichon Frise dogs Poppy and Maisie.

“I’ve just moved from a flat to a new house in Low Fell,” Jennifer continues, “and I’m always on the lookout for new items for my home, so after work I can’t resist browsing for home ware at intu Metrocentre as I’m still creating my perfect space!”
