A NEW LOOK North East bar and restaurant is already celebrating a host of major corporate bookings, ahead of its opening next month (June).
The former Fat Buddha site at Newcastle’s 55 Degrees North is currently being transformed into Antler, the city’s first Alpine themed leisure venue.
The development – which will see the creation of a year-round outside garden and seating in ski gondolas – will also be offering an extensive programme of entertainment while also maintaining its Asian roots which an oriental restaurant on the upper level.
Owner Chrysalis Leisure, headed up by North East entrepreneur, Gary Hutchinson, has already been promoting the venue for business events with a difference and conferences, thanks to Antler being able to take up to 800 people.
Mr Hutchinson confirmed there’s already been a wave of interest – and bookings – in using the venue.
“People seem to appreciate the fact that we’re doing something really different here,” he said.
“It’s a huge and versatile site which we are also offering for hire in its entirety or in sections.
“We’re very pleased with the response we’ve had so far and the level of interest that we are attracting.”
Along with hiring out areas or the whole building for events and meetings, the venue is offering a range of add ons such as cocktail masterclasses.
It has also just announced its Christmas party programme and again, has attracted a huge level of interest.
“We have a range of special offers already in place for anyone looking to book the venue which we can discuss with people if they get in touch,” said Mr Hutchinson.
“We can’t wait to unveil more of the exciting plans that we have for the site.”
