Yorkshire Brands Lend Great Support to the Malton Food Lovers Festival in its tenth year
One of the UK’s most renowned food and drink events, the Malton Food Lovers Festival, has secured a band of Yorkshire brands to sponsor its 10th anniversary year.
Attracting tens of thousands of visitors to Malton each year, the Food Lovers Festival is now regarded as one of the country’s biggest culinary festivals and continues to attract exceptional talent from the top of the industry. This year, four Yorkshire-born Michelin starred chefs are on the line-up, including Tommy Banks, Michael O’Hare, Andrew Pern and James Mackenzie.
The Festival has had a transformation for the 2018 Bank Holiday weekend activities which will see the Market Place turned into a bustling foodie paradise. The enhancements include the addition of a pop-up picnic area and a new main stage layout with ‘free to attend’ activities, such as chef demonstrations, talks and interviews in the heart of Malton. Sponsoring the main stage is Inntravel, provider of Slow Holidays, particularly self-guided walking and cycling trips. Inntravel, which is based near Malton in the scenic Howardian Hills, has been supporting the event for four years and for the festival weekend staff will be on hand to offer visitors holiday advice, along with the chance to win a free holiday to Lisbon and the palaces of Sintra.
TransPennine Express are the official travel partners of the Malton Food Lovers Festival, as thousands of visitors from across the country visit Malton via rail. TransPennine Express offer hourly services into Malton from across the north of England including Scarborough, Liverpool, Leeds and Manchester, save over 50% on travel when you book in advance on tpexpress.co.uk.
Yorkshire based bespoke furniture maker, Howarth at Home, is sponsoring the Minster FM MinsterChef competition running up to the Festival, alongside showcasing their kitchen range and giving the chance to win a £5000 kitchen!
In the new pop-up picnic area, festival revellers will have the chance to kick off their shoes and relax on the soft green artificial grass, perfect for an alfresco bite to eat in the sun. Sponsoring this area is Greenergy, the renewable fuel provider based locally in Immingham. They are helping to fight the war against waste, (even the Malton Food Lovers Festival will inevitably produce some waste such as cooking oil) by showing visitors how they turn that waste into bio-diesel!
Tom Naylor-Leyland, Festival Director commented: “We are really humbled to have so much support from local businesses this year, without them the Malton Food Lovers Festival would not be possible.
“The highlight of Yorkshire’s foodie calendar, the Festival is a showcase of the most exceptional food and drink being produced in the region and we are very thankful to our supporting brands for contributing to the sustainability of this much loved event!” Other valued sponsors at the Malton Food Lovers Festival include The Malton Cookery School, The Talbot Hotel, Country Warmth, StreetScene, along with Sloemotion, Orchard’s of Husthwaite and Brass Castle Brewery who will be hosting the festival bar.
The Malton Food Lovers Festival is organised by Visit Malton which works to fund and deliver projects for the community of Malton, Norton and the surrounding area. In addition to the annual Food Lovers Festival, Visit Malton funds free parking in the Market Place throughout the year, the Malton Monthly Food Markets and contributes to local community projects including the Ryedale Book Festival, Christmas lights and Malton in Bloom.
