INNOVATIVE PROSPECTUS CAPTIVATES STUDENTS AT EAST DURHAM COLLEGE
One of the north east’s leading education establishments, East Durham College, has successfully engaged with potential applicants after joining forces with Leeds based marketing and engagement specialists, Alpha Card.
Market leaders in the manufacture of Z folding cards and other marketing and communications products, Alpha Card successfully bridges the gap between the digital and conventional print worlds, offering an interactive way of displaying information in a compact, portable and retainable format.
The innovative firm first started working with East Durham College in 2015 when they first looked to transform their prospectus into a pocket-sized Z folding card.
Incorporating key facts and statistics whilst highlighting different course options and the College’s impressive student survey results, the finished product offers a bright, engaging and alternative solution to a standard brochure – appealing directly to a young target audience.
Alistair Cummins-MacLeod, Director of Marketing and Public Relations for East Durham College, confirmed: “We moved from a traditional full-time prospectus to an Alpha Card Pocket Guide a few years ago and have been delighted with the results. In fact, our 16-18-year-old applications increased by 7% the first year we introduced the pocket guide”
“Not only did we save thousands of pounds on time, graphic design and print, the product looks great, the target market loves it and it’s convenient for the team to take out in large quantities to events, rather than heavy boxes of 100+ page brochures. So it’s been a win-win all round”.
Ian Whitfield, Managing Director of Alpha Card, added: “Alpha Card is delighted to extend our working relationship with East Durham College, and are thrilled with the results achieved with the alternative Z folding prospectus.”
“As all our products are manufactured on British soil, it’s great to hear how they can support the economy by helping to increase awareness and engagement in UK businesses and establishments, like the College, whilst offering a more cost-effective and retainable way of displaying and promoting key information. We look forward to working with the college again this year where we will hopefully continue to see an increase in student entry rates.”
Operating across three campuses, East Durham College, prides itself on being one of the most modern educational establishments within the region – boasting state of the art classrooms and work areas, together with a 500-seat sporting arena and dedicated, specialist theatre.
