Publishing-tech startup Story Terrace launches £400k crowdfunding round to support US expansion
Story Terrace, the publishing-technology startup, has announced the launch of a £400K crowdfunding campaign through equity crowdfunding platform, Seedrs.
The company, which launched in the UK in June 2015, helps people turn their memories into a book, using professional ghostwriters.
The service operates by matching professional writers with customers who are looking for the creation of a 100-page biography, printed as a hardcover book.
As of today, Story Terrace has sold 475 book packages worth over £1m.
In just over three years, the company has opened offices in London and Los Angeles and assembled the largest selection of specialist writers in the world.
Rutger Bruining, founder and CEO of Stoy Terrace, said: “For many of our clients, to have their stories written down gives them a unique opportunity to reflect and share their life lessons learned.
“A written biography is now not only for the rich and famous but available to everyone.”
Anyone interested can become a shareholder in the company for as little as £10.
The proceeds from this funding round will be used to support the development of its book creation technology and Story Terrace’s US expansion; a market that has already grown to nearly half the company’s sales since its launch last year.
