Crowdfunding campaign delivers £900k investment for storage tech startup Stashbee
Space and storage marketplace Stashbee has raised close to £900k in funding to accelerate its expansion plans.
London-based Stashbee set itself a target of £500k on crowdfunding platform Seedrs, but more than 740 investors from 32 countries backed it with £897,470.
The company will use the seven-figure boost to carry out hyper-local marketing activities throughout the UK and other key markets.
Stashbee will also hire new team members to support its growing customer base and invest in product development.
The tech startup has created a community marketplace that enables individuals and businesses to either access secure storage or make cash from their own idle space.
David Mantle and Anthony Paine, co-founders of Stashbee, said in a statement: “With the traditional UK self-storage industry worth £750m a year alone, we are confident Stashbee can tap into a huge potential market and offer a hassle-free storage experience.
“We are delighted by the overwhelming response we’ve received to our first crowdfunding campaign.”
They continued: “For us, crowdfunding is a useful tool to build a community of not only financial supporters, but advocates and potential customers, and we look forward to taking them all on this journey with us.”
