Bardsley Construction wins £17m contract to build aparthotel in Manchester
Bardsley Construction has secured a £17m contract to deliver a Staycity aparthotel in central Manchester.
The Tameside-based firm is building the 224-room venue on Mason Street, in the city’s New Cross district.
The development will provide 48 one-bed and 176 studio apartments along with a reception, gym and cafe.
It will be the third site in Manchester operated by Dublin-based Staycity Group, which has properties at Piccadilly and Laystall Street.
Ged Rooney, procurement director at family-owned Bardsley Construction, said: “Bardsley is an increasingly active player in the delivery of high quality hotel accommodation in Manchester where demand for new hospitality space continues to rise as the city improves its international connections with a truly global visitor market.”
How the building could look
The project team for the aparthotel includes SimpsonHaugh (architect), SHED (structural engineer), JH Partners (mechanical and electrical engineer) and AFA Ltd (employer agent and quantity surveyor).
Completion is due in December 2019.
