Global engineering consultancy expands in Liverpool with new 10,500 sq ft base
Global engineering and design consultancy Arup is expanding in Liverpool.
The London-headquartered company signed up for a new 10,500 sq ft base on the 10th floor of The Plaza, almost doubling its office footprint in the city’s commercial district.
Arup, which has operated in Liverpool for 18 years, is currently based on the 12th floor of the Bruntwood building.
The new office will give the company room to accomodate more than 100 employees, it said.
Interiors business Overbury has secured a contract to deliver a fit-out of the workspace.
Arup office leader Garry Banks said: “This expansion is significant as it means we can continue to grow and make the most of new opportunities in such a dynamic and fast-growing region.
“We will continue to develop our existing teams and have plans to introduce new service offerings including rail, transport, maritime and nuclear.”
He continued: “This will build on strategic commissions already secured with both public and private sector clients across the City Region.
“Working with Overbury we believe we have created an, inspiring space which will delight both our people and our clients.”
Overbury director Philip Westwood commented: “We have a long-standing relationship with Arup and subsequently a solid understanding of their brand, culture and way of working.
“The new office will significantly change the way in which the company operates and will create a space in which Arup can be proud to welcome visitors.”
