Durham startup FOOTY.COM expands into Manchester
North East retail and content startup FOOTY.COM is expanding with a base in Manchester.
The Durham-headquartered company, which operates a price comparison service for football products, has moved its new digital marketing team to The Sharp Project in Newton Heath.
FOOTY.COM’s head of digital, Ayshea Elliott, said: “We felt strongly that Manchester was a city bursting with digital marketing talent and the city’s long and illustrious footballing heritage and passion meant it was the perfect base for our digital team.
“The Sharp Project just felt right from the moment we walked in, we loved the community vibe here and the opportunities to capture great images and video within cool surroundings.”
The Sharp Project commercial director Rob Page commented: “We’ve always prided ourselves on being the right environment for startups looking to develop so we’re very pleased that the FOOTY.COM team chose The Sharp Project to move to.
“We look forward to seeing the business develop as the team develop content on-site and collaborate with our existing creative community.”
To mark the start of the 2018 World Cup today (June 14), FOOTY.COM has launched a talk show dedicated to the tournament.
Ayshea continued: “Our World Cup talk show will be our flagship content on YouTube during the tournament. This will feature our three presenters: Oliver Hayes, Steven McInerney and Phil Delves who will bring their unique take on the World Cup.”
FOOTY.COM was founded by football fan Chris Nixon.
