GOVERNMENT TRADE OFFICIALS TO VISIT BRADFORD FOR EXPORT CONTROLS SEMINAR
Crucial issues surrounding UK export controls will be the topic of a seminar to be conducted by two Department for International Trade (DIT) officials at overseas trade specialist, Chamber International, next month (July).
The officials, Gareth Maybury and Robert Tahany, will conduct the two-hour breakfast seminar on July 10 which will conclude with a questions and answers session with attending businesses. Topics to be discussed in the seminar will include the background to export controls, covering legislation, controlled goods, technology and activities; different types of export licences, common difficulties with applications, the licensing criteria, and compliance, including why the DIT visits companies which use open licences, the problems they come across and best practice guidance.
Chamber International director, Tim Bailey, says: “This is a rare and valuable chance to get up to speed on export controls directly from the Department for International Trade and we are expecting a great deal of demand from exporting companies wishing to attend.”
Chamber International helps hundreds of new and experienced exporters throughout the UK with a wide range of specialist services to make exporting easier and more cost effective.
