Trunk and Big Brand Ideas kick off World Cup fever for Marston’s pubs
Manchester content agency Trunk, and customer engagement agency Big Brand Ideas, have developed a match predictor game for national pub chain, Marston’s, to drive people into hundreds of the company’s pubs during this year’s World Cup.
The game is the first piece of work Trunk has launched for Marston’s after the idea won the Ancoats-based agency the attractive brief earlier this year.
Working together, Trunk led the creative design and front-end development of the game, whilst Big Brand Ideas’ web development team built the back end to enable features including a dynamic national leader board and real-time scoring system.
The game was developed in just six weeks and the competition mechanism is expected to increase footfall in more than 700 Marston’s pubs. A number of ‘instant wins’ are featured in the game, to be redeemed in local pubs across the country. The person at the top of the leader board at the end of the tournament will win a £1,000 luxury holiday.
Adam Britton, managing director at Trunk, said: “The World Cup is a great time to engage Marston’s customers, including those that might not normally be interested in football or sport. The hype of the tournament encourages more of us to get involved and a free to enter, light-hearted predictor game with instant wins is inclusive for everyone. Regardless of your football knowledge or who you’re supporting, you can get involved and it’s allowing Marston’s to offer something unique during a very busy period.”
