SSP to open four new food and beverage units at London Bridge station
SSP, which operates food and beverage brands in travel locations worldwide, is set to open four units at London Bridge station in 2018.
The new units will include a Grind café-bar, an M&S Simply Food, a Starbucks store and a new food, news and wine concept called Urban Express.
Urban Express, which made its debut at London Bridge early May, has been created by SSP specifically for the travel market.
The new retail concept offers a wide selection of products from premium UK brands. These include: wine merchant Berry Bros. & Rudd, with wines in full, half and quarter bottles; COOK with a wide selection of homemade frozen ready meals; and Foyles, with a range of books, including the retailer’s ‘top picks’.
Urban Express also offers meal deal ranges to customers including a range called ‘Good to Go’, which includes a sandwich, a choice of crisps or confectionery, and a drink.
The station will also be home to the first Grind café-bar and restaurant in a travel location.
The new London Bridge station Starbucks will be the first store in the UK travel market to offer Nitro Cold Brew, cold brew coffee that is slow-steeped and infused with nitrogen.
Simon Smith, CEO of SSP UK and Ireland, said; “We are delighted to be opening these four new brands at London Bridge and to be part of the investment in this exciting new development project.
“These innovative brands have been carefully selected to complement the offer at the station and meet the aspirations of Network Rail and its customers.”
M&S Simply Food will be opening this summer, with Grind scheduled to open this autumn and Starbucks due to open later this year.
