£12 million investment in Helensburgh
Work has started on a £12 million development in Helensburgh – and the first properties are now released for sale.
Persimmon Homes West Scotland has made a start on its long-awaited scheme to build 76 new homes on the 7.5 acre former Dobbies Garden centre site.
Planning for the development was lodged with Argyll and Bute Council in March 2017 after the lengthy discussions with Architecture and Design Helensburgh and Architecture and Design Scotland to formulate a design that complimented the existing landscape and subsequently approved in December 2017.
The development, named Dutchess Gait after the local woodland, is located to the west of the popular seaside town offering a range of two, three, four and five bedroom homes.
The first houses have now been released onto the market with full details, the layout and house styles now available at the sales office at the Dargavel Village South on Barrangary Road in Bishopton.
The first residents are expected to move in before the end of the year.
Ingrid Gahagan, sales director at Persimmon Homes West Scotland, said: “We are delighted to have launched this fantastic new development in Helensburgh.
“It is an area that is particularly popular amongst house hunters due to its easy access to Glasgow by road or rail links and of course the picturesque seaside setting.
Located on the north shore of the Firth of Clyde and the eastern shore of the entrance to the Gare Loch Duchess Gait is ideally placed just over a mile away from Helensburgh town centre.
Ingrid added: “We are expecting huge demand and we’d be delighted to show people the options we have available.”
First time buyers are eligible to use the Government’s Help to Buy – Scotland scheme, which means purchasers may only need a deposit of five per cent. The Government steps in with a 15 per cent equity loan, leaving an 80 per cent mortgage.
