TEESSIDE CIVIL ENGINEERING BUSINESS CELEBRATES LARGEST CONTRACT WIN TO DATE
A Teesside Civil Engineering firm is celebrating landing its largest contract win to date with a Teesside local authority.
For Lynas Engineering – based in Redcar – the contract win is its largest single project to date with a commission by Middlesbrough Council to deliver civil engineering works on the A66 Cargo Fleet roundabout and its surrounding area.
Speaking about their success to date, Rob Lynas, MD of Lynas Engineers said: “We are absolutely thrilled to secure this contract and especially for a business which has been running for such a short period of time. It really is beyond what we could have expected.
“For a young Teesside engineering consultancy that has been in business for less than two years, the achievement is a real testament to the strength of our team and the quality of civil engineering we’re delivering. To be recognised for these skills is something we’re incredibly proud of.”
Formed in 2016, Lynas was started from the bedroom of its current MD and has since grown rapidly to become one of the region’s most recognised and innovative civil engineering consultancies. With three office moves in that time, the business is fast becoming synonymous with some of the region’s most high profile civil engineering projects. This includes the A66 Cargo Fleet roundabout project which will see Lynas Engineers deliver a package of civil engineering works including highway design, drainage, traffic signage and improved pedestrian and cyclist access.
The scheme, which will see the complete revamp of the A66 Cargo Fleet roundabout to include a signalised throughabout, high mast lighting and concrete safety barrier is expected to be completed in early 2020 and will see a complete transformation of the traffic capacity in this part of Middlesbrough.
The contract is Lynas’ largest single contract to date and will see the team work closely with Middlesbrough Council to transform this historic transport interchange.
Speaking about the project, Rob added: “The Cargo Fleet roundabout is probably one of the most important transport intersections in Teesside and because of this we are delighted to be involved in such a transformational programme of change that will improve this intersection significantly.
“We are also delighted to be able to use our digital technology – which recently helped us win the Teesside North East Business Award - to showcase how this scheme will look, how it will be developed and which could also be used to show communities across the area how the transformation will take place.”
It is in fact the design packages used by the civil engineering business which led to them winning the Teesside North East Business Award for the Best Use of Technology and which – unlike other civil engineering consultancies – enables them to offer real time modelling and joined up processes that will help clients plan and manage their projects more cost effectively.
Lynas Engineers specialises in transport, highway and drainage engineering design, both in the provision of new infrastructure and maintenance of existing. The team prides itself on delivering engineering excellence supplied using innovative technology and design thinking.
