Hartland Carnival voted RGB Community Fund winner
Hartland Carnival has been voted as the latest winner of RGB Building Supplies’ Well Built Community Fund and the committee now has £1,000 to spend on building materials at RGB’s Bideford branch.
Following a public poll, where over 2,000 votes were received, Hartland Carnival came out on top over Filleigh Community Primary School and Barnstaple Carnival.
Taking place over seven days, Hartland Carnival is one of the largest in the region. The committee who organise the event will be using the £1,000 worth of materials to help enhance and add to the planned events that take place on the days leading up to Saturday’s grand procession, which include a quiz night, family fun night and skittle tournament.
Kevin Rowe, who nominated Hartland Carnival and is part of its committee, commented: “A huge thank you to everyone that voted for us and to RGB Building Supplies for its generous donation of materials. This year’s carnival takes place between Sunday 5th and Saturday 11th August and we’re looking forward to making it an enjoyable week for the whole community.”
Violet McKenzie-Pegg, Branch Manager at RGB Bideford, commented: “We’re delighted Hartland Carnival is our latest Community Fund winner. As their local branch, we were rooting for them, and we look forward to helping them make the most of their £1,000 worth of building materials.”
