It really was One Great Day, well maybe three!

The Alhambra Shopping Centre in Barnsley recently hosted ‘One Great Day’ of fundraising fun for all the family to enjoy.

The One Great Day fundraising spectacular followed similar successful events that have taken place over the last four years, that have raised more than £15,000 for charity.

This year’s funds have reached a staggering £8,000 which is to be split between One Great Day’s charity, Great Ormond Street Hospital and the centre’s chosen local charity of the year - Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice.

The money was raised through a combination of a golfing day, Family Fun event in the shopping centre and some of the Alhambra staff taking in the It’s a Knock Out challenge at the weekend.

Steph Higham, Alhambra Shopping Centre marketing manager said: “This year’s One Great Day events were amazing – the best to date and so much fun! Thank you to everyone who got involved one way or another, so we could offer such a great donation to two more than worthy causes.

“I for one really enjoyed the It’s a Knock Out challenge on Saturday at Dinnington Rugby Club, it was such great fun raising money for kids in the sun!

“Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice team has been amazing support during our One Great Day events. We have lot’s more planned with Bluebell Wood throughout this year so keep an eye out in the Centre for up and coming events as well as on our social media and website.
