Call for confidence in Liverpool to fulfil major construction projects

Director of Liverpool-based Ascot Property Investments, Stuart Howard, has called on investors to remain confident in the ability of northern cities to fulfil major construction projects.

Mr Howard, who’s company has acted as investment agents for a number of major construction projects in Liverpool, commented after the BBC’s recent Panorama programme highlighted a series of stalled development schemes in the region.

Stuart Howard, said:

“These stalled developments cannot be allowed to cloud the thriving construction scene in the North West, the continued appetite overseas investors are showing in our region, nor the success companies like ours is having in showcasing the phenomenal investment opportunities we have here to the world.

Without diminishing the seriousness of the failed schemes in the North-West or the bad experiences some investors have had, we cannot allow that to reflect the overwhelmingly bigger positive picture. Let’s focus on the good and not the bad - anything else risks damaging the entire reputation of the property investment sector and wider construction industry in the UK.

It is down to all of us - property developers and investment agents - to sell the attractiveness of our region around the world. We have all got to step it up. It is something that we, at Ascot, are firmly focused on doing and as a result, we are well on our way to surpassing our investment targets of previous years.“

Ascot Property Investments act as agents for some of Britain’s biggest developers and in 2017 their development sales in Liverpool alone totalled over £100m.
