Crowne Plaza London – The City unveils £800k transformation of City Lounge
Crowne Plaza London – The City has officially unveiled the newly refurbished City Lounge, following an £800k refurbishment.
The refurbishment project has increased the capacity of the lounge from 45 to 62 covers, offering additional space for individual and group style dining in London for guests and visitors alike.
The redesigned space displays an “artsy sophistication feel” from the formerly traditional interiors.
The new decor features an illuminated bar as the lounge’s focal point. Grey wool banquettes paired with burnt orange leather accent chairs and gold lined bookshelves are also included throughout.
The high back sofa pods provide an ideal solution for those that require privacy for meetings or a quiet place in an open plan lounge. Design elements also include bespoke geometric chandeliers and opal glass globe table lamps with a satin brass finish.
The kitchen offers contemporary international dishes following a complete redesign of the menu.
The morning menu includes salt-beef hash served on toasted sourdough bread and topped with poached eggs, as well as smashed avocado or eggs benedict.
As for the All Day Dining menu, visitors can choose from seafood options such as Scalloway salmon smoked from the Shetland Isles and MSC-approved sustainable cod cooked in a Goan coconut curry sauce, which sit alongside salads, sandwiches steaks and small sharing bites.
Paul Watson, general manager for Crowne Plaza London – The City, said: “We’re delighted with the results of our refurbishment, which has completely transformed the appearance of our lobby.
“The result has completely exceeded all our expectations. The new space is inviting and has a contemporary and relaxed lifestyle feel.”
