Legacie Developments reveals completed Dale Street shops revonation with six new stores opening in August
Legacie Development Group has revealed its completed £2.6m Dale Street shops renovation, which has seen the project restored back to its original state.
The historic shops, which fell into total despair in the heart of Liverpool’s thriving business district, have been transformed so that six new stores making up 3400sqft of retail space, will open in August and all 18 apartments are now fully let.
The Dale Street shops project is the second phase of redevelopment undertaken by Legacie, following completion of the adjacent property 99-107 Dale Street in 2016.
Taking 12 months to complete, the restoration has totally transformed the face of popular Dale Street which is currently undergoing extensive redevelopment, with Legacie contributing to bringing new businesses to the area.
Legacie is also redeveloping various projects within Liverpool and beyond including Water Street’s Reliance House.
A spokesperson for Legacie said:
“It was a shame that the original listed building had to be demolished on structural safety grounds, however Legacie Developments was passionate about restoring the building to its former glory and reviving this much-loved building. Our aim was to respect the heritage and history of the Dale Street shops and so working very closely with Liverpool City Council and its planning/conversation team was essential to develop a project that was suitable in the context of the adjacent listed properties in the area.
“We’re delighted with the completed project and are thrilled that it has received such positive feedback. It shows what can be achieved on sensitive sites when a restoration is in the right hands. It’s been an incredibly rewarding project to work on and Legacie thanks LCC for allowing us to breathe a new lease of life into this special area within the city centre.”
