VehicleVision Going for Growth Thanks to Vistage
Leicester based automotive software company, VehicleVision, has strengthened its team with the appointment of a new Director thanks to business advisory group, Vistage.
Former Lookers boss, Steve Dean, was introduced to the Director of the company, Aidan Rooney, after joining one of Vistage’s Midlands based groups run by leading Chair, Chris Everard. After building a strong relationship through monthly Vistage meetings, Steve joined the VehicleVision board in May, bringing 35 years’ worth of automotive experience to the role.
Steve will spearhead an ambitious plan to grow the company, which supplies some of the world’s leading car brands such as Audi with state-of-the-art software, within an increasingly competitive and fast-paced industry.
Steve said: “The Executive Board can be a lonely place and in order for business leaders to continuously grow and develop their offering, I think it’s essential to stay on your toes. Since joining Vistage three years ago, I’ve really learnt the value of frank, open conversations about your obstacles and issues with other business owners. Vistage allows you to help understand other sectors and push yourself - members are definitely no holds barred when it comes to challenging each other!
“Of course, the biggest benefit to my Vistage membership has been the opportunities it has presented since my move to the Midlands from Scotland a few months ago. It was no accident Aidan and I were paired by Chris - he spent several hours getting to know each of us on a personal level, learning what makes us tick and our strengths and weaknesses. That’s why our partnership works - Aidan has a wealth of software expertise and together with my knowledge of the automotive sector, we’re hopeful that we can take VehicleVision to the next level in terms of business growth.”
Vistage is the world’s largest provider of peer groups for business owners, CEO’s and executives, with over 21,000 members worldwide. The organisation brings together like-minded business leaders to share their expertise, discuss business practices and overcome personal and professional challenges.
Chris Everard, Chair of Steve and Aidan’s Vistage Group, said: “Having Steve join VehicleVision has been a great move by Aidan. From working closely with both men within their group, I was able to gauge the drive and enthusiasm they had for their respective sectors and the ambitious nature they had in common. The rest was up to them. Steve brings a great vision to Aidan’s already incredibly successful company and together they’ve been able to overcome some significant obstacles to create a promising trajectory for future growth.”
VehicleVision’s pioneering SaaS (software as a service) product, which was developed by Aidan and his team, is now used by car manufacturers around the world - the most prominent being for Audi’s pioneering ‘AudiCam’ offering, in place since 2012. The software produces a video link from the car technician direct to the customer, to build trust, improve sales and boost customer satisfaction. With Steve on board, the company hopes to grow its business even further to secure its place as one of the leading automotive software companies in the world.
Steve has taken the role of Director alongside his business consultancy work and development of his own software product geared towards increasing wellbeing and productivity in the work place.
He continued: “I’ve been interested in the power of software as a service for a number of years and I was thrilled when Aidan asked me to come on board within a sector I know very well. VehicleVision is a leader in its field and a company I have long respected and admired for its ground-breaking way of thinking. I can’t thank Chris and Vistage enough for giving Aidan and I the opportunity to partner up and I look forward to seeing where we can take the company.”
