Sunderland battery manufacturer Hyperdrive Innovation backs Bring it On! exhibition
Battery manufacturer Hyperdrive Innovation is throwing its weight behind the Bring it On! science and engineering exhibition.
The Sunderland-based company has become an official platinum supporter of the two-day event, taking place at the city’s £16.5m Beacon of Light complex this autumn.
As part of the tie-up, Hyperdrive Innovation has donated £2,000 and sponsored an award in the exhibition’s Big Bang competition.
Bring it On! will welcome more than 70 exhibitors from across the region and over 2,750 pupils, in a melding of schools and industry to inspire, excite and educate the next generation.
Stephen Irish, commercial MD at Hyperdrive Innovation, said: “The North East is a major hub for engineering, manufacturing, research and innovation and we’re very proud to be encouraging local school children into STEM careers.
“The Bring It On! event is a fantastic opportunity for children in our region to meet world leading companies that are based on their doorstep and truly be inspired for the future.”
The Big Bang Near Me is a national programme of events that aims to get young people interested in science, technology, engineering and maths.
In the North East, it is delivered by technology transfer company RTC North.
Big Bang manager Carol Harrison commented: “We are delighted that a market leader on leading lithium-ion battery technology has not only donated funds to help us pull out all the stops for this fabulous two-day event but also that they are giving up time to help inspire the engineers of tomorrow.”
