DOUBLE MILESTONE FOR FIRST-TIME BUYERS IN ELLESMERE PORT
Wedding bells are ringing for first-time buyers in Ellesmere Port, as Help to Buy continues to assist young couples in saving for not only their first home, but for the big day as well.
Stephanie Wilson (32) and Chris Shepherd (31) are celebrating two major milestones in one year, as they settle into their new Ashwell home at Countryside’s Wellington Place development, in Ellesmere Port, whilst also preparing for their wedding day.
Stephanie, who’s set to walk down the aisle in August, commented: “We’ve been saving for a house and a wedding since we got engaged, as we really wanted a place to call our own as we started our married life together. I always knew that I wanted a new build - I just like the idea of having a blank canvas that I can put my own mark on. Chris, however, wanted an older home because he felt it was better value but the Ashwell home actually changed his mind! The house is really spacious and you get so much more for your money compared to the second hand market.”
The pair moved into Stephanie’s mother’s house in Liverpool, for two years, in order to save. Something they couldn’t have done while they were renting.
Stephanie added: “Help to Buy was a big help as well, I don’t think we could have bought when we did without it!”
The Ashwell home design had been on the couple’s wishlist for a while, as they had their hearts set on the the three-bedroom, detached property after viewing a showhome at another Countryside development in Liverpool.
Stephanie continued: “We knew we wanted the Ashwell. We fell in love with the master suite and the bay window in the living room, but my favourite area is the kitchen. The skylights and French doors are gorgeous and everyone who’s been round has complimented them - we still can’t believe the house is ours!
“Despite finding the Ashwell in Liverpool, we had already decided to buy in Ellesmere Port - it’s perfectly located for both our jobs, as I work nearby and Chris commutes to Warrington. Plus, there’s everything you could need right on your doorstep! So, when we came across Wellington Place with the same house type we were really excited.
“We did have a look around other new build developments in the area before committing, but the specification just didn’t compare. With Countryside we got so many extras included - chrome LED downlights, a double oven and integrated appliances. You just don’t seem to get that anywhere else.”
Deborah Hughes, Regional Sales and Marketing Director for Countryside, commented: “The popularity of Wellington Place has soared since its launch earlier this year, with many young professionals and local families keen to settle down in Ellesmere Port and invest into their future. Chris and Stephanie’s story is a testament to the benefits that Help to Buy can offer first-time buyers in not only owning their own home, but to also plan and prepare for their future.”
