Cactus Images Celebrates Tenth Anniversary with New Brand and Website Launch
Derby-based Cactus Images, one of the region’s best known commercial photographers, has marked its tenth anniversary with the launch of a new brand image and website.
Cactus Images was founded by Angela Jenkins and Chris Howard, who met during their second year studying for a degree in commercial photography at the University of Derby. The business started life at the university’s Banks Mill creative studios, before relocating in 2010 to Friar Gate Studios.
In 2016, they expanded to the penthouse suite at Marble Hall, the iconic former Rolls-Royce building, which is also part of the Connect Derby portfolio of managed workspace.
During this time, Cactus Images has established itself as one of the region’s leading commercial photography and post-production studios, specialising in product, commercial, business portraits and food photography.
As the business has grown and developed over the years, Cactus Images is now able to offer a wide range of services to support and strengthen its photography projects, including creative planning, prop sourcing, styling and set builds.
These fully integrated services allow Cactus to work with a broad client base, which includes local SMEs and national brands such as FujiFilm, Morrisons Flowerworld, Hypnos Contract Beds and East Midlands Trains.
Cactus Images’ 10th anniversary coincides with the most successful period in its history, with a variety of exciting commissions for a wide range of clients across the UK.
In order to support these core services and business growth, Angela and Chris have recently recruited Laura Parry, who has more than a decade’s experience within the creative sector. Laura has been responsible for the company rebrand and the development of a new website, which will better reflect the range of services now offered by the team.
Commenting on the company’s 10th anniversary and continued expansion, Angela Jenkins said:
“Our ten-year anniversary has come at a really exciting time in our development, with lots of interesting creative projects for some high profile new clients, together with the arrival of Laura, who will enable us to continue with our expansion plans.”
Chris added:
“We’d like to thank everyone who has supported us over the past decade, particularly Ann Bhatti at Connect Derby, who persuaded us to move to Friar Gate Studios during our formative years and has really championed us over the past eight years.
“We did look at other schemes and buildings when we decided to move from Friar Gate Studios, but nothing could match the services and facilities available at Connect Derby.
“Marble Hall is a fantastic place to base our business and we’re really looking forward to the future of Cactus Images.”
Ann Bhatti, head of Connect Derby, added:
“Congratulations to Angela and Chris for reaching this milestone anniversary. Over the past eight years, they’ve made a massive contribution to the sense of community that has developed at Connect Derby, as well as taking lots of brilliant photos for us.
“I look forward to enjoying a piece of birthday cake and finding out more about their plans for the future.”
