Jet2 reveals plans for Icelandic adventures from Newcastle Airport

Jet2.com and Jet2CityBreaks have today (July 19) revealed plans for a programme of trips to Iceland from Newcastle Airport.

The holiday company will provide two opportunities to experience the Nordic island country in February.

Jet2 is offering either a three-night midweek or four-night weekend trip, both of which give holidaymakers the chance to experience the capital, Reykjavik, see the Northern Lights and explore Iceland’s Golden Circle with its geothermal lagoons, spas and waterfalls.

A Boeing 737-800 aircraft will operate the route between Newcastle Airport and Keflavík International Airport, with the four-night weekend trip available for 14-18 February and the three-night midweek break for 18-21 February.

Steve Heapy, chief exec of Jet2.com and Jet2holidays, said: “Iceland is a destination that is rapidly growing in popularity thanks to its abundance of natural wonders, such as the Northern Lights, Golden Circle and Blue Lagoon.

“As well as geothermal spas, geysers, natural parks and the incredible Aurora Borealis, Iceland also offers the ultimate city break destination in stylish Reykjavik, which is the world’s northernmost capital.”

He continued: “This programme of dedicated trips to Iceland from Newcastle Airport gives our customers even more choice for Winter 2019.

“The beauty of Iceland, coupled with the fantastic benefits available through Jet2.com and Jet2CityBreaks, means we are confident of a very successful programme.”
