Jet2.com collaborates with Invest Newcastle in new direct flight scheme
Invest Newcastle and leisure airline, Jet2.com have teamed up to provide a direct flight from Newcastle to Nice for MIPIM 2019.
The international property event will take place in Cannes on the French Riviera from March 12-15, 2019.
MIPIM is a four-day real estate exhibition, conference and networking event with more than 26,000 participants and more than 5,000 investors in attendance.
Catherine Walker, inward investment director at Invest Newcastle, commented: “We are delighted to collaborate with Jet2.com to offer an exclusive direct flight for our partners.
“Last year we had a record year, with 30 partners (more than 80 delegates) flying to Nice to be part of one of the biggest events in the property industry calendar. This event is an ideal platform to attract inward investment and promote our vibrant region, helping to deliver economic growth and job creation.
“We are always looking at ways to improve the experience for our delegates and this will help make travel arrangements that little bit easier, ensuring MIPIM 2019 gets off to a flying start!”
Newcastle City Council and Invest Newcastle lead a private sector delegation to MIPIM each year in order to try and demonstrate the region’s strengths as one of the UK’s fastest growing places to invest, develop or locate.
The Jet2.com flight will take off on March 11, 2019 and marks the first time that a direct flight has flown from Newcastle to Nice at that time of year.
As well as giving delegates direct access to the conference, it also means local holidaymakers can fly direct to the French Riviera from Newcastle with Jet2.com and Jet2CityBreaks.
The Newcastle at MIPIM Partnership delivers high impact and value for money for all partners, with an exciting lineup of events and speakers.
Trevor Caplis, manager, charter and airline sales at Jet2.com, added: “We are very pleased to be supporting the region by providing return flights to Nice for this major conference.
“Thanks to this partnership, delegates from the region will be able to fly direct from Newcastle Airport on our award-winning airline, and we are confident that the flight will be a huge success.
“As well as supporting local businesses, the flight means we are also giving holidaymakers the opportunity to experience the magic of Nice and the French Riviera from Newcastle Airport with Jet2.com and Jet2CityBreaks.
