Orange Bus show their colours in support of Newcastle Pride
On Friday 20th July, Interaction Design Agency, Orange Bus, showed its support for Newcastle Pride by hosting their own all day Pride Party at their Newcastle city centre office.
Staff were encouraged to attend work dressed in their most colourful ensemble, and were welcomed by Pride packages on their desks - including rainbow face paint, sweets and Pride flags. The agency hosted a day of activities for their employees including a tuck shop open to the whole building at their Milburn House base, a Pride history quiz, rainbow themed cocktail masterclasses and a photobooth- all to raise vital funds for the Albert Kennedy Trust.
The Albert Kennedy Trust provide accommodation to vulnerable LGBTQ+ people who are living in a hostile environment or are facing homelessness. Over 120 Orange Bus staff showcased their rainbow colours to fundraise for the charity, with donations still ongoing.
Commenting on the success of the day, Orange Bus’ Marketing Director, Alex Cardnell, said: “Our Pride Party created such a fun atmosphere for all of our employees. Not only have we raised money to support a great local charity, but we also felt it was important to promote awareness of diversity in the workplace - something we feel very strongly about here at Orange Bus.”
This isn’t the agency’s only involvement in Newcastle Pride celebrations, as they also sponsored and donated gifts for the Northern Frontrunners LGBTQ+ 5k run which took part at Exhibition Park on Friday 20th July.
