Redfern Travel invests in TotalKare column lift presence in Nottinghamshire workshop

One of the UK’s leading family-run coach transportation specialists has strengthened its relationship with TotalKare, in order to guarantee the availability of its vehicles.

Mansfield-based Redfern Travel, which was established over 60 years ago, has purchased an additional set of mobile column lifts to boost the capacity and flexibility of its service centre in Nottinghamshire.

By introducing an additional set of T8DC cable-free mobile column lifts to its extensive workshop, the company will now be able to use the lifts in configurations of not just four, but six or eight depending on whether the vehicle being lifted has two-, three- or four-axles. This solution can lift up to 7,500kg per column.

“Our dynamic coach fleet covers everything from day excursions to long distance destinations in Europe so we need to make sure we have all of our vehicles in the best condition and undergoing regular maintenance,” explained Scott Johnson, Director at Redfern Travel.

“Our rolling service contracts means we need to continually exceed client expectations, and vehicle availability is crucial to achieving this. TotalKare has supported us with market-leading products and expert servicing for over 20 years – the cable-free mobile columns lifts make lifting the variety of vehicles in our fleet simple and we plan to continue this robust relationship into the foreseeable future.”

TotalKare’s Sales and Marketing Director James Radford continued: “Redfern Travel takes pride in working in a safe service centre environment and the absence of cables increases loss prevention, whilst diminishing unnecessary capital outlay.

“The automatic electronic shutdown in each lift in the event of an obstruction, coupled with its ratchet system, means the T8DC is the mobile column lift of choice for many of our customers.”

TotalKare is the UK’s number one supplier for heavy duty vehicle lifting solutions and aftersales care.

The company was recently bought out as part of an MBO led by David Hall, Chairman Mike Lord and Directors James Radford and Peter Geobey.

It is part of a strategy to strengthen its market-leading position as a provider of heavy duty workshop solutions, including four and two post lifts, forklifter ramp systems and a comprehensive suite of ancillary products.
