Liverpool retailer throws shade at the rain thanks to surge in sunglasses sales

A Liverpool store is celebrating a surge in sunglasses sales thanks to a British heatwave that shows no signs of slowing down.

Fashion retailer Jessie & Co, which is based in Prescot, has noted sales of its unique sunglasses range sky-rocket in recent weeks and has welcomed visitors from as far as Ireland to shop the quirky eyewear collection.

Managing Director of Jessie & Co Louise Gillespie said: “Year on year, the summer season sees our sunglasses remain as one of our most popular, must-have seasonal accessories however this year, we’ve welcomed unprecedented demand as our range has flown off the shelves time and time again in response to the fantastic weather we’ve been enjoying. Not only have we continued to restock popular styles and introduce new ranges, we’ve also extended our selection to include added colourways, shapes and finishes including over-sized, mirrored, rounded and aviator to name just a few.

“With the recent news telling us that the heatwave is expected to see us well through until August, we’re getting set for a new product drop – keep your eyes peeled for new additions to our sunglasses shelves!”

In line with its recent birthday celebrations, Jessie & Co has unveiled a brand refresh which has included the introduction of an online shopping portal.

Louise added: “Whilst we love seeing our customers face to face as they join us in store for their purchases, we have also recently unveiled a new online store whereby customers from throughout the UK can shop quickly and easily and we are noticing similar trends in sunglasses sales through our e-shop, too.”
