Property agency appointed on Wandsworth’s Ram Quarter scheme

Greenland (UK) Investment Ltd has tasked property agency Bruce Gillingham Pollard with securing retailers and restaurant operators for its Ram Quarter development.

The company will market over 70,000 sq ft of space at the scheme, located in Wandsworth, alongside joint agent CBRE.

Greenland, part of the Shanghai-based property firm Greenland Group, is turning the former Young’s Ram Brewery site in into a swathe of retail-leisure space and 700 homes.

‘Heritage’ retail and restaurant units will be located in the converted brewery buildings, set around the development’s main square, with a further 14,000 sq ft of retail space arranged along the Ram Quarter’s central boulevard.

Greenland has also created 17,000 sq ft of restaurant space with terraces along the banks of the River Wandle.

Ram Quarter will link the existing shopping and food and beverage offer at Southside shopping centre with the boutiques and cafés of Old York Road and Wandsworth Town station.

Construction of the central retail units and waterside restaurant space is complete and the handover of the first 250 homes is underway.

The business units and residences located in the former brewery buildings are due for completion later this year.

Greenland’s UK managing director, Taotao Song, said: “The transformation of the Ram brewery site is opening exciting opportunities for Wandsworth.

“With its excellent transport connections, riverside location and high-quality public realm, Ram Quarter is set to become a thriving new retail and leisure destination for southwest London.”

Taotao Song continued: “Our focus will be on providing premium brands and independent operators to complement the existing retail offer at Southside shopping centre and along Garratt Lane.

“Bruce Gillingham Pollard’s experience in the London market and its expertise in leasing boutique destinations places it well to deliver this ambition. We look forward to working with the team and CBRE to unlock Ram Quarter’s full potential.”

Woody Bruce, director at Bruce Gillingham Pollard, commented: “We are thrilled to be instructed by Greenland on their landmark Ram Quarter development in the UK.

“The former Young’s Ram Brewery site is iconic within the Wandsworth area and Ram Quarter celebrates this heritage while delivering an exciting new place where people can meet, shop, eat and drink. We look forward to working alongside CBRE to help bring Greenland’s vision to life and attract bespoke and exciting brands to this prestigious location.”
