£210m mixed-use development in Leeds' South Bank hits the market
A £210m mixed-use development based in the South Bank region of Leeds has now been launched to market by property consultancy Knight Knox.
X1 South Bank, developed by X1 and based on Hunslet Road adjacent to Leeds Dock, will be completed over five phases and comprises 928 homes, as well as cafés, restaurants, and retail and office spaces.
Located next to the recently approved City Park, X1 South Bank has been architecturally designed to complement surrounding listed buildings.
The five buildings will be linked by a central public realm, with over a fifth of the whole site being publicly accessible space.
Residential units will include a mixture of one to three-bedroom apartments and penthouses, as well as three-bedroom townhouses. The units have been designed to provide residents with generously proportioned accommodation.
Residents will also benefit from amenities including large balconies, roof terraces, private gardens, on-site gyms, concierge entrances, resident-only podium gardens, landscaped green space and secure basement parking.
Leeds City Council is transforming South Bank through a regeneration project that will double the size of Leeds city centre, delivering 8,000 homes and 35,000 new jobs.
Andy Phillips, commercial director at Knight Knox, said: “The regeneration of South Bank is central to the exciting growth plans for the city of Leeds and we’re thrilled to contribute to this with the launch of X1 South Bank.
“With Leeds expanding at such a rapid rate and people flocking to the city to take advantage of its employment opportunities and recreational offering, we’re certain the residential units will prove to be a big hit.”
Pending approval of submitted plans, which is expected in August, construction of X1 South Bank will begin in December 2018.
Melissa Green, operations director at X1, added: “Bringing modern architecture, fabulous homes and impressive commercial space, X1 South Bank is set to further invigorate an area that will become the most desirable place to live in Leeds city centre.”
