INDUSTRY RECOGNITION FOR LOCAL CARE FORCE
Health care recruitment agency Local Care Force is delighted to have been shortlisted in three categories in the Nursing Times Workforce Awards.
The Nursing Times has launched the new set of awards to accompany its inaugural ‘Workforce Summit’ event that is focused on looking at solutions to the current nurse staffing crisis. The awards seek to recognise and reward the excellent work that is being done by employers to support the nursing and midwifery workforce. Entries were received from almost 100 organisations and the shortlist has been selected by a panel of 15 esteemed judges.
The ‘Address Your Stress’ mental health Initiative launched earlier this year by the agency nursing provider, has been nominated in two categories; ‘Best Diversity and Inclusion’ and the ‘Best Wellbeing and Staff Engagement’. The agency has also been named a finalist in the ‘Best UK Employer of The Year’ category for its ‘Agency Nurses Protect Yourselves, Protect Your Patients’ initiative and is the only non NHS organisation to be recognised.
“We are incredibly proud to have been recognised and shortlisted for these awards. We work tirelessly to be a good employer and to support our nurses and staff.” said Local Care Force MD Leanne Silverwood.
Steve Ford, editor of Nursing Times, said: “Through the awards we will highlight organisations that are already delivering exceptional experiences for employees – whether through preceptorship, training and career development or wellbeing initiatives.”
The Diversity and Inclusion award aims to recognise an organisation that has made a significant improvement and continued commitment to the diversity of its workforce. It is for those who actively recruit and then support the careers of employees, taking into account age, gender, sexual orientation or ethnic background, to reach their potential with equal access to opportunities and progression.
The ‘Best Wellbeing and Staff Engagemen’ category is aimed at an employer that has made a real improvement to its staff engagement activities and demonstrated a continued commitment to the mental and physical wellbeing of its staff. ‘Best UK Employer of The Year’ is a significant award and will recognise organisations that have excelled in their overall workforce planning and sustainability. The judges will be looking for employers that recruit well and also create a working environment that motivates, inspires and supports their nursing staff at all stages of their career.
All three awards will be judged on innovation, value, leadership and adaptablility and winners will be announced on the 4th October in London.
