Carter Jonas reveals latest residential scheme in Isleworth for 'young professionals'

National property consultancy, Carter Jonas has secured planning permission from the London Borough of Hounslow for 23 additional apartments at 71 St Johns Road, Isleworth, on behalf of FRT Developments Ltd.

71 St Johns Road is an office to residential conversion that will deliver a total of 51 new homes, a private communal garden to the rear of the property, landscaped road frontage and secure cycle storage.

The new planning allows for the erection of a two-storey extension to the roof and rear of the building to accommodate the additional apartments.

Katy Davis, partner at Carter Jonas, said: “The planning permission enables FRT Developments to scale-up the conversion of this disused office building to create a new thriving residential community.

“Smaller developers have an important role to play in London, as they can make a significant contribution to the number of new homes needed to meet ever-growing demand.

“Developers like FRT Developments formulate creative solutions to bring unloved buildings and pockets of land back into active use as new residential developments, which is supported by the government and progressive local authorities.”

These apartments will be available with Help To Buy, and are said to be suitable for first time buyers.

Ed Marsh, co-founder of FRT Developments, said: “We specialise in creating small to medium-sized developments in locations with good transport links to appeal to young professionals.

“We look for underutilised sites that we can breathe new life into, which could mean converting existing buildings from commercial use or designing a new building that fits into a small brownfield site.

“In this way, developments like 71 St Johns Road can have a positive impact on the number of new homes needed around London and provide an accessible price point for buyers.”
