dewinter launches Merseyside Women’s Fund
Liverpool-based PR and marketing agency dewinter has been appointed by Community Foundation for Merseyside (CFM) to drive awareness of its new Merseyside Women’s Fund, which aims to invest £1 million into supporting local women.
CFM helps people and organisations to invest in local communities where it is most needed and where it will have greatest impact. Over a third of women’s groups consulted by the charity believe their sustainability in the next three years is questionable, highlighting the vital role of the Women’s Fund.
dewinter Liverpool has been tasked in sharing the message far and wide – reaching out to the business community and regional stakeholders, ensuring that the fund is launched, developed and sustained through extensive marketing across all media platforms.
CFM will award grants to local groups and charities working with women and girls throughout Merseyside. The main focus of the fund will tackle the priorities revealed in the charity’s recent women’s study, which include aspiration, mental wellbeing, social isolation and domestic violence and abuse.
“Similar women-only funds are already in existence in the North East, Scotland and USA and have delivered real impact for women in their communities. We want women to feel safe, supported, empowered and confident when confronted by abuse, discrimination and a lack of opportunities”, said CEO of Community Foundation Merseyside, Rae Brooke.
She added: “By working with dewinter, we can highlight the key issues and difficulties facing girls and women in Merseyside and encourage people to help, donate and support their local communities. We want to equip girls and women in Merseyside with adequate resources to allow them to flourish.” Kate Cox, MD and owner of dewinter, concluded : “We are dedicated to helping local women achieve, aspire and grow within the Merseyside region. Our aim will be to drive awareness and donations to enable local women to access the amazing support that is available to them.”
