Investment in Cutting Edge Technology Continues for Northumberland Business
One of the North East’s leading providers of PCB design services – Irridian Industrial Electronics - has invested in state of the art PCB design software to significantly enhance the accuracy and speed of its services.
Based in Cramlington, the business will now offer its clients the opportunity to have design services delivered in either Cadstar or Altium platforms.
With modern and interactive user interfaces, both cutting-edge design software platforms will allow Irridian to design complex multilayered Printed Circuit Boards incorporating cutting edge high speed design requirements.
Speaking about the new software, Alan Henderson, Managing Director at Irridian Industrial Electronics said: “We are delighted to have upgraded our technology that will not only allow us to stand out in the marketplace, but also offer our customers the flexibility to choose the software that is right for them.
“We have already seen first-hand the benefits of having a streamlined PCB design process since integrating the software including a significant increase in the speed and accuracy of our design services.”
Both the Cadstar and Altium platforms allow all aspects of the PCB design cycle to be addressed - right from schematic capture and PCB layout through to documentation and simulation - meaning that the company’s PCB designers can be seamlessly connected to all elements of the design process, and at all times.
Recently acquired by young manufacturing business – Hindley Circuits – well known for its leading PCB assembly services, Irridian is now located within the company’s extensive manufacturing facilities.
And the new software comes on the back of Hindley Circuits investing over £600k in acquiring the latest technology and upgrading equipment, as well as the development of its staff. This has seen the business invest in a 3D Automatic Optical Inspection system to significantly enhance its inspection services which the business believes is the first of its size to have.
Speaking about the recent investments, Richard Whitehead, CEO at Hindley Circuits: “We are committed to investing in the very best industry leading software and technology and will continue to invest heavily in both design services and manufacturing.
“We have been impressed by the level of interest from Hindley’s existing customers who have seen the real benefit in Irridians complimentary design services and wealth of capabilities. Since acquiring the business, having the ability to now offer such services, has really bolstered our manufacturing business and really sets us apart in what is a very populated market.
“As a result of additional business secured - which is great news - we are now in a position to recruit an experienced PCB Designer. Through having the right equipment and software in place, coupled with highly skilled personnel, this will allow us to really drive the business forward to continue to achieve our ambitious growth plans.”
Irridian Industrial Electronics has been providing electronic installations, repairs, restoration and retrofitting services in the North East for over 30 years. Originally based in Camperdown, Irridian Electronics now operates from a base in Cramlington following the acquisition of the company by Hindley Circuits earlier this year.
Established in 2016, Hindley Circuits has recently acquired Magnum Electronics and Irridian Industrial Electronics. The company provides electronic assembly services for a diverse range of clients across various industry sectors. The continuous investment in staff and cutting-edge technology has led to the company securing high profile contracts as well as being awarded the prestigious ISO 9001:2015 certification.
