Housing association firms pair up to offer new repair service for region
Local housing associations, North Star Housing Group and Castles and Coasts have teamed with ESH Facilities to bring tenants a brand new repairs service.
With the help of North Star’s Involved Tenants, the housing associations have appointed new repairs contractor with the goal of improving their repair service and creating more local jobs.
North Star has recently been commended by various bodies for its work with tenants.
Emma Speight, executive director of assets and growth at North Star, explained: “We are committed to providing an excellent responsive repairs service for tenants and are delighted to be working with ESH Facilities to deliver this.
“Working in partnership with Castles and Coasts to procure the new repairs contractors will enable us to achieve both cost efficiencies and technology enhancements to improve the customer repairs experience.”
ESH Facilities, part of the ESH Group, will deliver day-to-day repairs services to around 5,000 properties in the region.
With the help of ESH Facilities, both associations will be able to provide benefits to their tenants - an online repairs appointment system, text message confirmations and evening/weekend appointments will all be offered to all tenants with this new contract.
Stephen Davies, operations director of ESH Facilities also expressed their hopes about the contract, added: “We are thrilled to be appointed by North Star Housing Group and Castles & Coasts Housing Association as their new responsive repairs contractor.
“We are excited to play our part in improving the repairs service across North East England. It’ll be yet another chance to showcase how not only ESH Facilities, but the entire ESH Group always puts local communities at the heart of our activity and support them, the environment that surrounds them and the economy that they are a part of.”
