Local care force ‘Everyday Heroes’ announced

Agency nursing provider Local Care Force is celebrating the worthy winners of its inaugural ‘Everyday Heroes Awards’ which were created to recognise and reward the incredible efforts made by healthcare workers every day.

The public were invited to vote in three categories for the Nurses, Care and Support workers who had made a difference to their lives.

The trio of winners were selected from hundreds of entries and have each won a hotel break complete with spa treatments as a reward for their tireless efforts. Sadie Smith has been named best Nurse, Jo Lister scooped the award for best Support Worker and Top Care Worker has been awarded to Suraya Alvi.

On the awards, Leanne Silverwood, Managing Director of Local Care Force, said; ““Healthcare workers really are unsung heroes – they work tirelessly every single day, facilitating comfort, dignity, inclusion and safety for the people they support and care for. It is a job that whilst rewarding on so many levels, can also at times, be both mentally and physically draining. This is why we wanted to celebrate all the great things these professionals do, and to provide some much earned rest, relaxation and recognition for their amazing efforts.”

“The most special part of these awards is that the winners have been nominated by those they are actually providing care and support for. Healthcare workers deserve to be acknowledged for the great work they do, which makes this recognition and appreciation even more worthwhile and meaningful. “

“Selecting our winners was not an easy choice by any means. From the hundreds of entries received, there were so many who were worthy but Sadie, Jo and Suraya really stood out to us all for the amazing work they do and they are very deserving winners.” She concluded.

Established in 2004, Local Care Force has offices in Leeds, Sheffield and Manchester. It supplies workers to the nursing, healthcare and social care sectors and is the preferred supplier of many large private, public and charitable organisations, providing temporary and permanent staffing solutions, including qualified and specialist Nurses through to Care and Support Workers. Local Care Force has just under 50 employees and over 1800 staff working for them.
