Call tracking technology pioneer, ResponseTap, celebrates 10th Birthday
A marketing technology provider, which was the brainchild of two friends following a conversation in the pub, is celebrating its 10th Birthday, and a hugely successful decade.
ResponseTap, a Call Intelligence provider, based in Salford Quays, now employs over 80 people, has expanded into the US and works with some of the UK’s biggest brands including Virgin Money, Aviva and Bupa.
Brands and agencies across the world use ResponseTap’s call tracking software to link the online customer journey to a phone call, enabling companies to track and improve marketing return on investment.
Since its inception in Summer 2008, ResponseTap has gone from strength to strength. After only two years, it integrated with Google Analytics and the company was named in the Telegraph’s Tech Start-Up 100.
In 2012 it raised its first £1.6million in funding before securing a further £4million in 2014, to accelerate its expansion in Europe and the US, and a further £3.5million boost came last year. Its American dream then became reality in 2017 when, after having a presence in Atlanta for just two years, it opened an office in the heart of New York.
Co-founder and CEO, Ross Fobian, made the move to New York to lead the business’s growth in the lucrative US market.
Meanwhile, fellow co-founder and CTO Richard Hamnett, focused on its success across Europe. He has grown its Manchester office, having recruited 39 new staff members in the last 12 months alone.
At the start of this year, ResponseTap executed one of its largest product launches to date with the roll out of its Smart Match technology service. With the new launch it became the first call tracking provider to be able to attribute exact sales value to inbound customer calls for businesses.
Hamnett said: “Even as we enter our tenth year, I still can’t believe just how far our vision has come. We always had faith in our concept, so we’re extremely proud to be able to celebrate a decade of success. I dropped out of university to pursue this company which was a huge risk, but we’re constantly evolving and looking for revolutionary ways to solve our customers’ problems. Everyone involved along the way, including employees past and present, has worked tirelessly to get us to where we are today too, and I can’t thank them enough for that.”
Fobian added: “It’s been a hugely exciting time, from the first day we discussed the idea, to building the ResponseTap you see today. We have recruited some of the best talent in the industry over the years to develop our technology and ensure we remain at the forefront of the martech industry. This, plus sheer determination and hard work, has got us to this point and we’re going to make sure everyone has a well-deserved celebration.”
