Latest co-working opportunity for regional businesses expands its operations
Local co-working provider, Colleagues on Tap is expanding into South Tyneside.
The organisation, which already has six branches in the region, will hold monthly meet-ups at The Customs House in South Shields from Wednesday September 5, 2018.
They will be hosted by Lynsey Rollins, a chartered architect from Cleadon, and Angela Reed, a calligrapher based in South Shields.
Colleagues on Tap was launched in 2010 to support entrepreneurs, freelancers and homeworkers in the region.
Director, Jo Cameron, said: “The traditional workplace is experiencing a revolution with the increase in flexible working and rise of homeworking as a result of new technology.
“This amazing shift in the working patterns of entrepreneurs, freelancers and homeworkers can also have a profound effect on those individuals who may struggle working from home or crave the social interaction of the office environment.
“Colleagues on Tap co-working days help you get surrounded with colleagues for a day, so that working for yourself no longer means working by yourself. [They] are friendly, fun and informal, but also hugely productive and informative.
“We’re delighted to welcome Lynsey and Angela on board. They are both very successful local businesswomen and will be fantastic hosts to our new South Shields co-workers.”
Lynsey is a Chartered Architect with her own practice, L Rollins Design, which she set up 10 years ago. She specialises in domestic work to properties and new-build homes.
She added: “I’m really looking forward to hosting Colleagues on Tap at The Customs House. I have been regularly attending co-working days around the region over the past few years and have always find them rewarding.”
Angela set up Creative Calligraphy in 2014, offering a calligraphy service for weddings, events and bespoke commissions. She also runs workshops throughout the region.
She said: “Having worked with Lynsey before, I’m really looking forward to establishing Colleagues on Tap in South Shields and bringing people together to forge new relationships.”
The first Colleagues on Tap South Shields co-working day takes place from 9am on Wednesday, September 5, followed by meetings on the first Wednesday of the month.
Colleagues on Tap co-working days also take place in Newcastle, Sunderland, Durham, Darlington, Blyth and Consett.
