Masterchef winner launches pan-Asian restaurant and deli at Selfridges

Masterchef champion Ping Coombes has launched a new restaurant and delicatessen at Selfridges Oxford Street.

The chef teamed up with Malaysian dining brand PappaRich to establish Ping Pan-Asian at the department chain’s flagship London store.

The venture will serve Malaysian-Chinese cuisine from a restaurant in Selfridges Kitchen, located on the fourth floor, and a delicatessen in the ground-floor Foodhall.

Ping Pan-Asian represents Ping’s first solo restaurant project and PappaRich’s first UK launch.

Alongside the opening at Oxford Street, another branch has launched in the Selfridges store at intu Trafford Centre.

Ping said: “I’m delighted to be collaborating with Selfridges on Ping Pan-Asian, we’ve worked closely together to perfect the menu and they really share my passion and enthusiasm for fresh ingredients and delicious flavours.

“I’m excited to be open and welcome guests to enjoy our fresh and incredibly tasty food.”

Selfridges’ director of restaurants, Hannah Bass, commented: “It has been a real pleasure to work with Ping on this project and we’re thrilled to be launching Ping Pan-Asian exclusively in Selfridges.

“Her passion and expertise in Pan-Asian cuisine have led to a fantastic contemporary offer. I am sure visitors to both our London and Manchester Trafford stores will enjoy discovering the new eatery and delicatessen offer.”
