Arsenal expand deal with game partner Konami
Arsenal have announced an expansion of their global partnership with Japanese games company Konami.
The deal will see Komani, in its latest football game PES 2019, accurately recreate the first-team lineup and introduce new access to some of the Gunners’ biggest club legends.
PES 2019 will benefit from 3D scanning of Arsenal’s players and Emirates Stadium home ground.
But in a first for the PES series, Arsenal Legends will be included in the latest entry.
The club plans to reveal more information soon, although Konami offered fans a taster earlier this month with a large-scale promotion before the Arsenal v Real Madrid Legends clash.
Arsenal MD Vinai Venkatesham said in a statement on the club’s website: “We are delighted to be expanding our agreement with Konami as a global partner of Arsenal and one that captures the essence of our club within PES 2019.
“We are excited to be offering our fans the opportunity to experience both the players and Emirates Stadium so accurately within the game while also providing the opportunity to call on some legends in our proud history to bring the game to life.”
Jonas Lygaard, Konami Digital Entertainment B.V.’s senior director for brand and business development, commented: “Arsenal is one of the biggest and most successful clubs in world football, so we are thrilled to be continuing our partnership with them.
“Konami is dedicated to working with the biggest clubs in the world, and with a history such as Arsenal’s and the talent they have on display within their current squad, we are doing just that.”
