P C HENDERSON REPRESENT NORTH EAST EXPORTING AT BRITISH CHAMBER AWARDS
Co. Durham based sliding door hardware manufacturer - P C Henderson – has been announced as a finalist in this year’s British Chamber Awards as it is once again recognised for its exporting achievements. The firm will compete head to head against eight other companies from across the country to be given the coveted title of UK Export Business of the Year.
The success comes after P C Henderson impressed judges and was crowned winner of the Export Award at the North East of England Business Awards back in April. The firm has now gone onto to be chosen by the North East England Chamber of Commerce, against hundreds of entries, to represent the region at the National Awards.
Over 70 of the most successful businesses in the UK will battle it out across 9 key awards categories at a prestigious awards Gala Dinner held at Tobacco Dock in London on 29th November. One company will also have the privilege to be crowned Business of the Year and will have the honour of opening the London Stock Exchange when next year’s programme is opened in March 2019.
Commenting on P C Henderson’s latest success, Trevor Cossins, Managing Director, commented, “The British Chamber Awards is one of the most contested and prestigious award programmes in the UK. To be announced as a finalist is a huge achievement for us and we see it as an independent seal of approval for the hard work and dedication we put into exporting. To represent the north east region for our success and contribution to international trade is something we’re extremely proud of”.
The hotly contested Export Award aims to shine a spotlight on companies that have generated substantial success in international trade. Judging criteria for the application takes into account the company’s turnover, profit, future objectives, sales by geographical market, strategy for entering new markets and future growth strategy.
“Exporting lies at the heart of everything we do - we take a great deal of time to understand new markets and listen to our overseas customers. This, backed up by high quality manufacturing and a driven and committed team, is what lies behind our success today”, continued Trevor.
P C Henderson’s export sales currently account for 70% of its overall sales, a significant contribution to exporting activity in the north east. The company exports to over 70 countries worldwide and its sliding and folding door hardware can be seen in a variety of applications across the globe including hotels, offices, restaurants, shops, homes, warehouses and airports.
