Leeds Building Society expands Scottish presence with new Edinburgh branch
Leeds Building Society has grown its operation in Scotland with the addition of a new branch in Edinburgh, the company’s third premises in Scotland.
Located on Lothian Road in the city’s financial district, it increases the Society’s UK network to 54 branches and adds to existing Scottish premises in Aberdeen and Glasgow. The move is also expected to create seven new jobs in the city.
Deputy chief executive officer Richard Fearon said: “We’ve invested a great deal of time and effort to identify the best location for our newest branch.
“Our opening in Edinburgh adds to the choice available to savers on the high street and brings another mutual to the city.
“We’ve also created seven additional jobs and our presence in Edinburgh further strengthens our position in Scotland.”
Mr Fearon went on to claim the move would give existing customers in and around Edinburgh access to a more personal service.
He explained: “We know how important face-to-face service is to customers, so expanding our physical presence in the city is a positive move for our business and members alike.”
