Newcastle Building Society to give Gosforth branch ‘modern’ makeover

Newcastle Building Society is set to reveal a “modern” new look at its branch in Gosforth later this year.

The 1,400 sq ft branch will close its doors at 1pm on Friday (October 12) as it undergoes a makeover to give customers better access to services, information and advice.

Due to complete mid-December, the refurb will also create new space for customer transactions and a free community area for local groups looking to hold meetings and events.

Stuart Miller, customer director at Newcastle Building Society, said: “At a time when many financial institutions are closing branches across the region, we remain fully committed to maintaining and enhancing a modern branch network that sits right at the heart of our communities.”

The project is part of an ongoing multi-million pound investment programme covering the whole of Newcastle Building Society’s branch network.

Stuart continued: “Our Northumberland Street and Portland House branches in Newcastle city centre are available to serve Gosforth customers while refurbishment work is ongoing.

“While we are sorry for any inconvenience that the temporary closure of the Gosforth branch might cause, we think our customers will very much like what they see when it reopens.”
