NUFFIELD HEALTH CHESTER, THE GROSVENOR HOSPITAL DIRECTOR RAISES FUNDS FOR PRE SCHOOL
A local Hospital Director recently completed a Coast to Coast cycle ride in order to raise funds for Hope Community Pre School in Rubuguri, Uganda.
John Pickering, Hospital Director at Nuffield Health Chester, The Grosvenor Hospital, cycled from Fort William to Inverness in Scotland raising much needed funds to go towards the build of a new classroom in a rural Ugandan pre-school.
The charitable team, who have previously taken part in numerous events to fund two classes within the school, are hoping to raise £5,000 to successfully build the latest addition that will house younger pupils.
John Pickering, Hospital Director at Nuffield Health, The Grosvenor Hospital commented: “It was great to do this bike ride in support of Uganda’s Hope pre-school.
“As many people know, I love a challenge and raising vital funds for the pre-school is a cause that I am highly passionate about.
When times got hard during the cycle and we started to struggle, we thought of the kids at the school and found a bit more strength to keep going. “
Ailsa Rainey, Marketing and Business Development Lead at Nuffield Health Chester, said: “We were extremely proud to see John and friends completing yet another challenge to raise for Hope pre-school.
“John and the team have raised a fantastic amount of money so far and we look forward to seeing them on their next challenge. “
