Barratt Developments Yorkshire East announces new Managing Director

Barratt Developments Yorkshire East, which includes the Barratt Homes and David Wilson Homes brands, has appointed Daniel Smith into the role of Managing Director.

Daniel has a strong knowledge of house-building and an impressive career spanning over 26 years in the industry. Daniel joined Barratt Developments in 2007 as West Midlands Commercial Director before progressing into the role of Manchester Operations Director in 2013. In his most recent role, Daniel was appointed as Group Commercial Director for Barratt Developments in 2014, playing an integral part in driving efficiency through build costs and the commercial valuation system.

Prior to joining Barratt Developments, Daniel gained valuable experience in the Yorkshire region, working for Bryant Homes and Taylor Woodrow Developments. Daniel’s main priority for the Yorkshire East division is to identify key areas to build new homes and communities, which in turn will bring new jobs and investment to areas across the region.

Mike Roberts, Regional Managing Director for Barratt Homes Northern commented: “I am confident that Daniel will bring with him the required energy, drive and enthusiasm to ensure that the Division is able to continue its sustained growth and development.”

Barratt Group was recently awarded a maximum five-star rating for the ninth consecutive year in the 2018 Home Builders Federation Customer Satisfaction Survey. The accolade means that more than 90% of its customers say they would recommend its homes to a friend. It also means that Barratt Developments is now the only major national housebuilder to be accredited as a five-star builder for nine years in a row.
