The AIA works to encourage lifelong learning among its global member base

North East group with 14,000 members named Northern Powerhouse Partner

The Association of International Accountants (AIA) has signed up to the Government’s Northern Powerhouse Partner Programme.

The AIA, headquartered in Newcastle, is a global membership body for accountants with a network of accounting professionals in over 80 countries.

It works to build skills, improve social mobility and encourage lifelong learning among its 14,000 members.

President of the AIA, Les Bradley, said: “I am delighted that AIA has been approved as a Northern Powerhouse Partner and I am looking forward to working with like-minded organisations to promote financial skills education and support business growth in the region.

“AIA’s experience in education and skills training across the financial sector through links with universities and academic institutions, alongside a network of trusted business advisers, means we are well placed to support the ambitious objectives of the government’s Northern Powerhouse strategy.”

Northern Powerhouse Minister Jake Berry MP commented: “Our Northern Powerhouse Partner Programme brings together a rapidly growing coalition of private and public sector organisations who proudly champion the strengths of our region.

“I am delighted to welcome the Association of International Accountants as our latest partner and I look forward to working with them as they equip the next generation with the opportunities and training they need to succeed in a globally competitive economy.”
