innogy announced as platinum sponsor of Offshore Wind North East 2018

NOF Energy is delighted to announce one of Europe’s leading renewable energy companies, innogy as platinum sponsor of Offshore Wind North East 2018.

The three-day programme is designed to promote and highlight the growing opportunities available in the offshore wind industry to UK companies and to build relationships between developers and the local supply chain. It includes a major conference and exhibition, plus innogy-led supplier workshops and two days of site visits to leading regional companies.

The main event at the Xcel Centre, Newton Aycliffe on 8 November, will be attended by hundreds of delegates and more than 40 exhibitors. It will include key speakers from offshore wind developers who will update delegates on their business activities and latest projects.

Event sponsor innogy is currently developing the 1.2 GW Sofia Offshore Wind Farm, one of four projects granted consent in the Dogger Bank area of the North Sea – which will provide major opportunities for the region’s supply chain cluster. As well innogy’s 860MW Triton Knoll project, located 20 miles off the coast of Lincolnshire, is now under construction.

David Few, innogy’s project director for the Sofia Offshore Wind Farm, said: “We are delighted to sponsor Offshore Wind North East 2018 at such a critical time in the development of Sofia – to showcase the upcoming opportunities for the North East and to start developing long-lasting partnerships likely to lead to a shared, prosperous future.”

Offshore Wind North East is hosted by NOF Energy, in partnership with Energi Coast and Subsea NE.

Joanne Leng, Deputy Chief Executive of NOF Energy, said: “I’m pleased to announce innogy as platinum sponsor of Offshore Wind North East. They are one of a number of companies that can bring undoubted commercial benefits to the region and its supply chain cluster.

“This event is an excellent example of the importance of bringing together offshore wind developers like innogy with the region’s industry-leading supply chain cluster which can deliver the high levels of expertise required.”

In two days of site visits, VIP guests will see for themselves the wide range of skills and services available during a number of visits to North East sector specialists.

Site visits are taking place in the south and north of the region, to leading companies such as Wilton Engineering, JDR Cables, Heerema, Tekmar Group PLC, Osbit, DeepOcean and A&P Group.
