Jobs created as Harrogate bathroom business adds new accessible range
Home improvement firm Passmore Group has expanded its showroom in Harrogate and created jobs with a new offering for customers with enhanced mobility needs.
The Leeds-headquartered company has added its More Ability service to the 3,000 sq ft Charms Bathrooms store on Beech Avenue, which now trades under the More Bathrooms brand.
The project will help Passmore create up to 10 jobs for local fitters, installers and surveying staff and grow its turnover from £6m to £10m over the next three to five years.
Passmore acquired Charms Bathrooms in 2017, a move that was forecast to boost the group’s turnover by £1m within 12 months. A year later and that target has been beaten, the company said.
Managing director Tony Passmore said: “We have grown to become the leading bathroom installer and designer in the region, so further expansion in Harrogate after a fantastic 12 months seemed like the next logical step.
“To help prevent accessibility issues whilst allowing people to remain independent, we offer a wide range of equipment, including walk-in baths, easy access showers and wet rooms.”
He added: “60% of our customers put their bathing problems down to a form of arthritis, and with 10 million people in the UK consulting their GP each year for arthritic related conditions, we have witnessed a gradual increase in need for the More Ability bathrooms.”
More Bathrooms’ Ability service offers accessible bathrooms aimed at improving the independence of over-65s and the less-abled.
