Work progresses on North Yorkshire business park forecast to create 600 jobs
Work is progressing on the first phase of a multi-million pound business park that will create hundreds of jobs in North Yorkshire.
The 30-acre Eden Business Park scheme, near Malton, will bring an estimated 600 new and sustainable jobs to the area.
Located off the A64 by the Pickering Road junction near Eden Camp, phase one of the development will create warehouse accommodation across two terraces housing four units of 5,000 sq ft and two of 10,000 sq ft each.
The units will be ready for occupiers on a freehold or leasehold basis at the end of February next year.
Yorkshire-based CDP Marshall, the developer behind Eden Business Park, is confident the scheme will will prove popular. It is the largest speculative development in the area for 10 years.
York-based property consultancy Lawrence Hannah is marketing Eden Business Park alongside Leeds firm AWS.
Miles Lawrence, director of Lawrence Hannah, said: “This is a very important development for the Malton area.
“This initial speculative first phase is providing six high-quality industrial warehouses, in a superb location, with easy access to York, the East Coast and to Yorkshire’s excellent motorway network.”
He continued: “Now that work has started on site, with the steelworks up, we are beginning to get very positive inquiries from companies wanting to either rent or buy the available units. We expect this interest to intensify as the units approach and then reach completion.”
The business park will feature a landscaped semi-rural environment. Infrastructure works including access roads and a roundabout are already in place, part funded by a £2.1m Local Growth Fund grant awarded by the York, North Yorkshire and East Riding LEP.
