TENTH ANNUAL BALL RAISES VITAL FUNDS FOR CHARITY
HUNDREDS of guests and dedicated supporters attended a ball for Calvert Trust Kielder on Friday 12th October, raising over £23,000 for the charity.
The 10th annual Calvert Ball, sponsored by AYP Financial and held at the Hilton Newcastle Gateshead, saw guests enjoying dinner, live music from popular band Livewire and lively chat from compere for the evening Joshua Riffe.
As part of the evening Joshua introduced regular Calvert Trust Kielder guest and keen supporter Kate Stanforth who has four chronic illnesses and spoke about how important her time spent with the charity has been to her quality of life.
The Calvert Ball has raised almost £300,000 over the last 10 years allowing the charity to create life-changing experiences for disabled people, their families and friends. Calvert Trust Kielder CEO Peter Cockerill said: “The Calvert Ball is a vital fundraiser for us. Even after 10 years we are still overwhelmed by people’s generosity and remain very, very grateful to all the individuals, groups and businesses who support us.
“The funds raised will make a huge difference to the charity and help lots of adults and children experience outdoor adventure, have fun and make lasting memories.” Room sponsors AYP Financial Planning joined Bishopwearmouth Co-operative and Alternative Bouquets and Gifts who sponsored the table centres and decorations. Perro Design & Communications, Nitelites, Hilton Newcastle Gateshead and Robson Print also supported this year’s Ball.
